Cheryl L. Whitfield, DVM — Chief of Staff
Dr. Cheryl Whitfield, Chief of Staff, grew up in McDonald, Ohio and currently lives in Boardman. She received an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University and a DVM degree from The Ohio State University (OSU).
Before joining our team in 2012, Dr. Whitfield practiced at another local animal hospital and spent some time practicing emergency medicine. She also did shelter work for a little over three years and was a relief veterinarian for a short period of time. Her medical interests include surgery and internal medicine.
At home, Dr. Whitfield has dogs, cats, and fish. She loves music and dancing, reading, and working outside. In her free time, she also enjoys a good movie or television show.
Brandt Athey, DVM
Dr. Brandt Athey grew up in North Olmsted, OH and attended The Ohio State University (OSU) for both his undergraduate degree and veterinary degree. He practiced at other veterinary hospitals in the Cleveland area before joining the Austintown Veterinary Clinic team in October 2016.
Dr. Athey was a cyclist at OSU and still loves riding today. His professional interests include cardiology and internal medicine.
Courtney O'Neill, DVM
An Ohio native, Dr. Courtney O'Neill graduated from The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She has a boxer mix named Buddha. Her hobbies include cycling and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes football team and the Cleveland Cavaliers (Cavs) basketball team.
